SP24 XC Vol Libre

MLR is one of the few european manufacturers producing GPS-receivers. 

MLR SP24 XC is the "big bother" of the SP24. 
For pleasure aviators the SP 24XC Vol Libre version with aviation data base is available.

Especially suitable for outdoor sports, it features 36 hours of permanent operation with just one set of batteries. Up to 100 hours in the energy saving mode !

As ever, small details make the difference, e.g. easy operation with the Help menu and the german/english menu operation, wich distinguish  MLR products from other instruments. MLR also has a 2 year warranty!

Technical features:
With its multiple, partly user defined displays, the SP24 is a multi talented instrument. The display of postion and altitude can be done in various position formats, like Latitude/Longitude, UTM-, OSGB-, LAMBERT etc. About 150 different map data allow the use of the SP24 in almost any location and with every nautical chart. The instrument features the display of Speed over ground (SOG), Course over ground (COG), trip miles, distance and course between two waypoints and waypoint approach (3D-highway, Radar, compass rose or data).
The Trip display enables a quick view on the Trip-Timer,  the Timer, the average and maximum speed. Certainly an battery-level-indicator and a GPS receiver indicator are built-in. With the various user defined levels you are able to configure the SP24 for your own purposes. For safety on board a MOB-key, the backlit keypad and display are installed. The MOB-key can also be used to store the current position.

Interfaces :
Certainly, the SP24 features an NMEA-Interface and a PC connection, a differential-receiver and an external antenna. So you can combine the SP24 with various navigation instruments, e.g. Chart plotter, DSC-transceiver or Laptop with software.

General usage :
The SP24 works in watersports, free flying, biking, hiking or mountaineering. With its high sensitivity this GPS can be used even in the forest. It is waterproof due to IPX6 specifications, the operating temperature is between -15 ° and +70 °; the acceleration of 6 g and the maximum altitude of 12.000 m enable a usage in almost all conditions.

Technical Features :
Double aquisition means, the GPS-receiver doubles the 12-chanel receiver when it is switched on. So the GPS simultaneously searches for 24 satellites. The calculation of the position appears very fast. With the PhaseLock TM the position calculation is even more accurate.

Special features of the SP24 XC
Optional a CD for 50 Euro is available. With it you can memorize 2 shorelines as tracks in the instrument. The CD contains shore lines of Europe an the Carribean.

Special features of the SP24 XC Vol Libre
With special functions for Ultra-Light Flyers. Developed with the FFVL (French Federation of Free Flying) and tested for the use at the PWC (Paragliding World Cup).
