Blue Chart

nautical charts

The supplement to Garmins MetroGuide street level maps

With that you can use your GPS for yachts and vehicles.

 > Overview of the data cards

Additionally to Garmins new handheld instruments with chart function and nautical chartplotters, BlueChart offers interactive and detailed nautical chart data.

BlueChart introduces an innovative and object orientated chart concept.Descriptions of objects on the charts are shown by just pushing a key. Cursor movements give information about depth contours, chart numbers, names of navigational aids and a lot more.

In connection with a Garmin Chart- plotter it seems like viewing a paper chart.  Features  include shading between depth contours, spot soundings, wrecks, navaids, harbour plans, restricted areas, cable routes, anchor points etc. Additionally BlueChart contains chart numbers, names, scales and data of the Notices to Mariners.

The BlueCharts offer detailed, vectorized cartography for large areas, known from paper charts.

BlueCharts are available on preprogrammed data cards. Compatible products are the nautical chart plotter: GPSMAP 276C, GPSMAP 2006 and GPSMAP 2010.

The following products do not support BlueChart: GPSMAP 130/135 GPSMAP 175, GPSMAP 180/185, GPSMAP 230/235, GPSMAP 210/215 and GPSMAP 220/225

Information about nautical marks, depth contours...can be shown.
Information about the used charts can be shown.
Because it is based on many charts, some areas have nondescribed areas while zooming. Zooming in and out a couple of times will eliminate the problem.
