The new generation of GARMIN Outdoor- navigation instruments. With the GARMIN GPS 76 the new generation of GARMIN Marine- navigation instruments comes into the sailor`s hands. In 2008 replaced by the Garmin GPS 72 The GPS 76 ,as a perfect marine hendheld instrument, is the follower of the GARMIN GPS 48 und GPS 12 XL . The GPSMAP 76 is the follower of the Garmin GPS 12 Map. A visible improvement is the display with a much higher resolution than before (180x240 pixels and a four level greyscale in comparison to the GPS 48 and GPS 12 XL, which have only 64 x 100 pixels and a two level greyscale). GPS 76 not only is waterproof, but also floatable; it has all important acoustic alarm functiones, e.g. MOB, anchor, proximity. Many new functions enormously enlarge the user`s possibilities. There is an inbuilt data memory of 1 MByte POIs (Points of Interest). Preloaded data of worldwide cities bigger than 200.000 inhabitants and navaids like lights or buoys. It operates 16 hours with
only two Mignon - batteries.
