Low cost instrument, manual activation only.

The new, approved emergency beacon GME 406 / 121,5 MHz includes a mounting bracket. Programmed with the individual identification number (MMSI No.) of the ship's owner, the instrument has a worldwide coverage. The MT401 transmits on UHF at 406,028 MHz for satellite fixing and on 121,5 MHz a sounding signal.

The owner is able to make a self test for battery control and to confirm correct operation. 

The instrument performs comprehensive internal diagnostics with a visual (LED flash) and audible (beep tone) operator feed back. Also a test message is coded, which can be analyzed by special test instruments. The emergency signal transmits after 60 seconds. According to the digitally coded messaging no warm up is required.
