Mastervolt Battery Watch
The new multi purpose high power Battery Watch

Multi purpose Battery Watch
The main function of the Battery Watch is to protect your batteries and equipment from an unexpected discharge. The device can also be used as a DC main remote control switch. Installation of the Battery Watch is very simple: just connect the Battery Watch between your batteries and the DC load. The remote switch option makes it possible to use the Battery Watch as a DC main switch up to 150A. As a result of the solid state switching technology used, this product has an extremely low noload  consumption of only 4mA in ‘offmode’ and 5mA in ‘on-mode’.

Protecting your batteries
The low voltage protection function prevents your batteries against deep discharge, giving your (valuable) batteries a longer life time. It also prevents unpleasant surprises with empty batteries at unexpected moments. In the event of a low voltage situation, an acoustic alarm* sounds and a visual LED indicator lights up before disconnecting the load. This gives you 30 seconds to take proper action. The cut-off levels are adjustable by setting the DIP switch in the desired position.

* This beeper can be switched off by a DIP switch setting, see table in the specifications.

Protecting your equipment
The high voltage cut-off protects your on board equipment against high voltages. When detecting a high DC voltage, it switches off after one second. Normally, this is quick enough to prevent serious damage. The Battery Watch automatically resets when the DC voltage returns to normal.

DC main switch 150A
When a traditional DC main switch is installed, the DC cable has to go from the battery to the switch, placed near the dashboard and back. This is a labour intensive and expensive job. The end result is long cables with energy losses and high costs. Utilizing the remote switching option, the Battery Watch can also be used as a main switch to disconnect the DC load from the batteries. This is a major improvement compared with traditional DC main switches.

Emergency switch / over ride switch
Always DC power when you need it! If DC power is required when the batteries are almost flat, protections can be over ridden by a DIP switch setting, see table in the specifications on the reverse.

User interface
The front of the Battery Watch is fitted with an easy-to-read user interface, consisting of four LED’s. These functional LED’s allow you to check the technical status of the electrical DC system. Fault indication is easily identified by three red LED’s.

Solid state - maintenance free
Due to the solid state switching technology applied, there are no moving parts inside this product. As a result, the Battery Watch is absolutely maintenance free. Another advantage of solid state technology compared to the ‘old’ relay technology is the extreme low no-load consumption of only 4mA in ‘off-mode’ and 5mA in ‘on-mode’. The new high power Battery Watch will not drain your batteries.

Adjustable set points
The Battery Watch is provided with an easy accessible DIP switch, which allows you to select your own set points. In the manual eight pre-defined levels are listed for the low voltage cut-off. It works very easily: just look at the table to choose your voltage level and adjust the four switches.

Battery Watch protections
The Battery Watch is protected against under voltage, over voltage, over temperature, overload and short circuiting. When one of the protections of the Battery Watch is activated, it will automatically reset after the fault situation has been solved. The Battery Watch is not designed to parallel batteries! This may damage the Battery Watch.
